  Buddy Punching defines the occurrence where one employee registers on behalf of his or her co-worker by tapping his or her time card, whether or not he or she is actually in the office. The reasons for such events are endless: the employee takes a long break, leaves early, arrives late, and so on. The reason does not matter. It is important that this common practice costs the company considerable time and money during the payroll year.
